Executing a migration task in Legacy mode or by the Tiered Storage Manger CLI
When creating the migration task, do not specify a volume specified in another unfinished migration
task for a source or target.
Data migration by using volumes that are applied data placement profiles
Volumes to which data placement profiles are applied cannot be used as source volumes or target
volumes for data migration.
In addition, do not perform the following operations:
Operation to apply source volumes or target volumes of data migration to a data placement
profile during their data migration.
Data migration of a source volume or a target volume which is being applied to data placement
profile.
Estimated time for data placement profile operations
Estimated time displayed for the following data placement profile operations may be inaccurate.
Creating a data placement profile
Updating a data placement profile
Applying a data placement profile
Releasing a data placement profile
Repairing inconsistency (Repairing an inconsistent data placement profile)
NOTE: The more target volumes that exist, the more inaccurate the estimated time becomes.
Stopping search inconsistency task (search inconsistent data placement profile task)
The stopping search inconsistency task operation is stopped immediately regardless of checking the
Stop the tasks immediately. check box.
Performance analysis
The performance of external parity groups cannot be analyzed.
This affects the following operations:
Selecting external parity groups from the Parity Groups tab for THP pools in the Mobility tab, and
then clicking the Analyze Performance button.
Selecting volumes whose migration targets are external parity groups from the Migration Pair
wizard in the Migration dialog box, and then clicking the Analyze Performance button.
Using XP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager CLI in a firewall environment
A KATS48000-E error message might occur when using the CLI interface on a client machine to
access an XP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager server under either of the following conditions:
The client and the server are separated by a firewall
You are using SSH communications between the client and the server
Note that if the Device Manager server uses the Windows operating system, this issue does not occur
when the following conditions are met:
Windows firewall is enabled.
Firewall exception of htsmService.exe is enabled.
