HP XP7 Replication Manager Configuration Guide (TK981-96012, May 2014)

8. Ensure that all of the conditions below are satisfied:
The requirements (microcode and system configuration) for Business Copy or Continuous
Access or other required storage system volume replication functions must be satisfied. For
details about the requirements and the configuration procedures, see the storage system
documentation for the applicable storage system model.
The storage systems to which the primary and secondary volumes belong are registered as
management targets of Device Manager, and the applicable Device Manager server is re-
gistered as a Replication Manager information source.
The pair management server recognizes the command device in the target storage system.
The primary and secondary volumes are recognized individually from the hosts.
The serial numbers for all storage systems managed by Device Manager are unique.
Mainframe systems environment
To configure Replication Manager for a mainframe environment:
1. Install HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition on the management servers.
For details, see the HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Installation and Configuration
Guide. If necessary, also see the following manuals:
HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Administrator Guide
HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Help
HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition CLI User Guide
2. Install HP XP7 Business Continuity Manager or XP7 mainframe agent on the hosts.
NOTE:
Mainframe pair configuration requires HP XP7 Business Continuity Manager 6.2 or later.
Earlier releases only support monitoring functions.
3. After installation of HP XP7 Business Continuity Manager or XP7 mainframe agent, you must
specify the information required for linking with Replication Manager.
4. You must configure BCM as follows:
Set up RACF for user authentication
Specify the prefix and allocate datasets as follows for the definition files:
For disk configuration definition files, allocate datasets whose name includes a DADID
For copy group definition files, allocate datasets whose names include a copy group name
If replicating datasets between sites, allocate the same name of the datasets to these sites
If route lists and command devices are managed with BCM, allocate datasets of BCM config-
uration files
