HP XP7 Replication Manager Configuration Guide (TK981-96012, May 2014)

Prerequisites for data migration using virtual IDs (HP P9500)
If a volume is an HP P9500 storage system and belongs to a resource group used for a data migration
function that uses virtual IDs, Replication Manager can display the physical IDs and define pair
configurations specifying the physical IDs. However, the following functions are not available:
Displaying virtual ID
Settings of storage system (command device, pool volume, and journal group)
Managing replicas
The prerequisites for defining or managing such a configuration are as follows:
Copy pairs must be configured in such a way that they are managed with the central management
method.
The configuration definition file must be re-created to match the migrated environment.
Authentication mode of the command device is enabled.
User authentication for all command devices that are recognized by the pair management server,
database server, and backup server is performed using the raidcom command.
If the pair management server is Windows, use the service execution user account of Device
Manager agent to perform the user authentication.
For details about the central management method and the configuration definition file, see the HP
XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Administrator Guide.
Prerequisites for data migration using virtual IDs (HP XP7)
The prerequisite for managing a copy group defined by device group is as follows:
HP XP7 command devices that configures the virtual storage machine is connected to the pair
management server, and you manage the device group in SVP configuration, do not connect
command device whose user authentication is enabled to the pair management server.
The prerequisites for defining or managing such a configuration are as follows:
If you are using physical IDs, copy pairs must be configured in such a way that they are managed
with the central management method.
The configuration definition file from the old storage system must be re-created to match the envir-
onment to which you are migrating. When the migration is complete and the copy pairs are
functional, do not make further changes to the configuration definition file.
The command device must have authentication mode enabled.
For all command devices recognized by the pair management server, user authentication must be
performed using the raidcom command.
For Application Agent, user authentication for all command devices that are recognized by the
database server and backup server needs to be performed.
If the pair management server is Windows, you must use the service execution user account of Device
Manager agent to perform the user authentication.
Application Agent support
Replication Manager supports managing databases using Application Agent in the following
configurations.
For local copy: A copy pair consisting of volumes in one virtual storage machine configured in one
physical storage machine.
