5 Security management
This chapter explains security functions that can be used in Replication Manager.
Network communications security
To provide security for the communication routes used by Replication Manager, you can use the HTTPS
protocol to encrypt communications. The following routes can be encrypted:
(1) Between HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Common Component on the management
server and the Web browser on the management client.
(2) Between Replication Manager on one management server and Device Manager server on another
management server (local or remote).
(3) Between Replication Manager (on the management server) and Business Continuity Manager (on
a host) using IHS.
The numbers (1), (2), and (3) correspond to the diagram that follows.
