8. Select Activate or Lock for the account. If you select Lock, the account cannot be used to register
storage systems.
9. Select an authentication method.
• Select Local if you are using the XP7.
• Select External or Local if you are using a storage system other than the XP7.
10. If Local is selected, enter the password for this user account in two places.
For a password, all alphanumeric characters and symbols can be used. The minimum number
of characters is 6 and the maximum number is 256.
11. Click Finish.
12. In the Confirm window, check the settings and enter a task name in Task Name.
13. Click Apply. The task is registered. If the Go to tasks window for status check box is checked,
the Task window opens.
Log in to HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition
You can verify that the installation is successful by accessing the GUI from a browser.
When HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition is installed for the first time, change the System
account password for security. The System account is a built-in account that has all permissions for
both operations and user management for HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition products.
The initial password for the System account is manager.
Prerequisites
The IP address or host name of the management server that was specified during installation.
