Post-installation tasks (new installation)
After a new installation of Device Manager, Tiered Storage Manager, or Replication Manager, there
are tasks to complete in Remote Web Console and HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition.
Remote Web Console:
• Open a browser and log in to Remote Web Console.
• Register the licenses for Remote Web Console products.
• Create user accounts for storage system registration.
XP7 Command View AE:
• Open a browser and log in to XP7 Command View AE.
• Register the license for XP7 Command View AE.
• Create a new user to whom you can assign permissions for all XP7 Command View AE resources
and who will become the storage administrator.
After you create a storage administrator user account in XP7 Command View AE, the storage
administrator can register storage systems and hosts, add accounts for other storage administrators,
and begin operating XP7 Command View AE.
Log in to Remote Web Console
When you log in to Remote Web Console for the first time, you log in as a super-user to create user
accounts. The super-user account includes all permissions.
1. Call your local service representative to obtain the super-user ID and password.
2. In your web browser, specify the URL:
https://IP-address-or-host-name-of-SVP/
3. Log in with the super-user ID and password.
4. To prevent unauthorized use of the super-user account, change the password. Select Settings >
User Management > Change Password.
Registering licenses for Remote Web Console products
Accessing software functionality requires a license key.
Prerequisites
Install a license key for each software application before using that application.
The following procedure applies when using the XP7. If a storage system other than the XP7 is used,
see the documentation for that storage system.
