AddReplication (For Fast Snap)
The AddReplication command creates copy pairs. This section describes how to use the command
to create Fast Snap copy pairs.
To create copy pairs other than Fast Snap copy pairs, see AddReplication on page 392.
NOTE:
This command can be used only with HP XP7 and P9500.
You cannot use the Device Manager CLI to perform any operations for consistency groups.
You must specify a formatted LDEV. If you specify an unformatted LDEV, the copy pair will not be
created. Use the GetStorageArray command to check whether the LDEV has been formatted.
The paired volume status is set to PAIR, and then changes to PSUS.
You cannot create a copy pair for a LUSE volume.
To create a cascade configuration by using the secondary volume (S-VOL) of Business Copy as
the primary volume (P-VOL) of Fast Snap, set the Business Copy copy pair status to Split before
creating copy pairs for Fast Snap. If the Business Copy copy pair status is Pair, copy pairs cannot
be created for Fast Snap.
There are two ways to create a copy pair.
Method 1: Add a copy pair to an existing snapshot group. To use this method, execute the com-
mand in the following format:
hdvmcli [URL] AddReplication [options]
{hostid=target-host-ID|hostname=target-host-name}
