Upgrade Considerations
Upgrade installation of Device Manager v7.6.0-03 or later
Before upgrading Device Manager 7.6.0-00, make sure to backup Device Manager 7.6.0-00 data
by using the hcmdsbackups command, because backup data of Device Manager 7.6.0-03 or later
is not available to restore Device Manager 7.6.0-00 environment.
Upgrading HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition products from version 7.6.1 or earlier
If you upgrade Command View Advanced Edition products from 7.6.1 or earlier to 8.0.0-00 or later,
confirm that the following services are running in the Services window in Windows. If either or both
services are not running, start them.
• HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition _HD0
• HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition _HD1
Upgrade of HP XP9000 CVAE from 7.4.1 or earlier (in Windows)
Application Error dialog box might appear during an upgrade installation of HP XP9000 CVAE. If
this dialog box appears, click OK to ignore it and to continue the upgrade installation. Even if this
dialog box appears, there will be no additional problems in any operation.
Upgrading the OS of a virtualization server
After the OS of a virtualization server that is registered with Device Manager is upgraded to a following
version, an attempt to add, refresh or edit a target host does not refresh information of the virtualization
server (*1) with the symptoms described below:
• ESXi 5.0 build 914586 or later
• ESXi 5.1 build 799733 or later
Device Manager GUI:
• Symptom 1: An attempt to add a host from the Device Manager GUI fails and the error message
KAIC07122-E or KAIC08244-E is output.
• Symptom 2: An attempt to refresh or edit a host from the Device Manager GUI fails and the error
message KAIC07667-E is output
