HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition 8.0.0-01 Release Notes
Take the following actions to correct the problem:
• Check the instance number and service number that are being used for the RAID Manager or for
the P9000 RAID Manager. For a host that is run by the Device Manager agent, use a number in
the range specified in the following properties of the server.properties file:*
◦ Instance number: server.agent.rm.temporaryInstance
◦ Service number: server.agent.rm.temporaryPort
* The property file of the Device Manager agent
If the operating system that runs the Device Manager agent is Windows Server 2008 or a later
version, the operating system might be using the service number. If so, change the service number.
• Check that the command device recognized by the pair management server is available.
Registering Solaris hosts in Device Manager agent
If the operating system of a host managed by the Device Manager agent is Solaris, make sure that
the number of LUs that the host recognizes does not exceed 256 per port. Also, make sure that the
LUNs are in the range from 0 to 255.
Using Internet Explorer 11.0
When you click a button or shortcut on the screen to open a new tab or new window, an extra blank
window or transitional window might be displayed at the same time. In such a case, close the
unnecessary window. If this issue occurs repeatedly, create a new Windows user account, then use
the new user account to operate the browser.
Storage device virtualization tasks
If a storage device virtualization task failed by interception, the volume of an external storage system
may remain being allocated to an internal storage system. If this occurs, virtualize a storage device
with either of the following methods:
Using the GUI:
Perform either of the following operations, then retry the volume virtualization task.
• Cancel the external path assigned to the external volumes.
• Create a new path by selecting a port other than the ports of the internal storage system, or by
selecting a port other than the ports of the external storage system.
Not using GUI:
• CLI AddExternalArrayGroup command.
• Element Manager, XP P9000 Remote Web Console, or XP Remote Web Console.
NOTE: If the solution is not performed and a storage device virtualization task specifying the
remaining volumes is executed, the task generates the KAIC15001-E error. If this occurs, perform
the solution above.
The number of external parity groups selected to be unvirtualized
If you select a large number of external parity groups to be unvirtualized, and submit an Unvirtualize
task, the processing to register the task might take several minutes. The processing takes about one
minute for 1,000 external parity groups.
