CAUTION: If you enter y, the properties for the SNMP Trap reception function are automatically
changed to disable the function. You must reset these properties to the default values manually.

8-5-8 .
10. In Linux, a message appears prompting you to specify the installation directory. To accept the
default directory, press the Enter key. To change the default installation directory, enter the
path of the directory that you want to use, and then press the Enter key.
CAUTION: Specify an absolute path, using no more than 18 bytes.
CAUTION: Do not enter the path delimiter (/) at the end of the directory path.
CAUTION: The following characters can be used for the path:
A-Z, a-z, 0-9, underscore (_)
CAUTION: Do not specify the root directory (/) as the installation directory.
CAUTION: We recommend that you do not specify an OS system directory (such as /bin, /etc,
/opt, or /usr) as the installation directory. If you specify the OS system directory, it might be
deleted during uninstallation of the Device Manager server.
CAUTION: If XP Command View AE Suite Common Component has not been installed, make
sure that the installation directory you specify does not contain any files and subdirectories.
11. If the message in the previous step appeared, a message for confirming the installation
directory appears. Check whether the displayed installation directory for the Device Manager
server, XP Provisioning Manager server, and XP Command View AE Suite Common
Component is correct. If the directory is correct, choose y to continue. If the directory is not
correct, choose n to cancel the installation.
12. If a XP Command View AE Suite product has not been installed, specify the directory in which
the XP Command View AE Suite Common Component database files are to be stored
CAUTION: Specify an absolute path, using no more than 90 bytes.
CAUTION: Do not enter the path delimiter (/) at the end of the directory path.
CAUTION: Usable characters for the path are as follows: A-Z a-z 0-9 . _
13. Specify a directory in which the Device Manager server database files are to be stored.
14. A message appears, prompting you to enter the IP address or host name of the installation-
target server, and the port number to be used.
CAUTION: If the OS is Linux and an IPv6 environment is used, we recommend that you use the
host name to specify the server. If you specify an IPv6 address, you might not be able to connect
to the Device Manager server or move from window to window when using Internet Explorer 6.
CAUTION: In Linux, if you specify an IP address in IPv6 format, enclose it in square brackets
([]).
IMPORTANT: If you press the Enter key without entering anything, port number 23015 is set by
default. If you change the port number, you must also change that port number in Common
Component. For information on how to change a Common Component port number, see
subsection
5-4-2 .
