The storage administrator and account administrator issue operation requests to the storage
management software by using a storage management client terminal to access the
management server from an external network.
The machine models that can be used for a management server vary depending on the prerequisite
operating system. The following lists the prerequisite operating systems and the applicable machine
models for each.
2-1-1-1 In Linux
The applicable models are the models of the following series on which Linux, when indicated as a
prerequisite operating system for management servers in section 2-2 , runs:
HP BladeSystem series, HP ProLiant series, HP or Non-HP PC/AT compatible machine.
Minimum requirements are as follows:
CPU clock: 2 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Disk space: 5 GB
Detailed information depends on the HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition
software being used. See the manual for the relevant software.
2-2 Software Configuration
The following figure shows the software configuration of the management server to be set up.

This section describes the software that is to be installed.
On the management server, install one of the prerequisite operating systems listed in the table. The
prerequisite operating systems vary depending on the storage management software. Storage
management software means the HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition products
indicated in subsection 1-3-3 . If you want to install any other HP StorageWorks XP Command View
Advanced Edition product, note that that product is inappropriate in the configuration evaluated
based on ISO/IEC 15408. The prerequisite operating systems consists of types: Linux. Table 2-1
