5 Settings required for linking with related
products
This chapter describes the settings required for linking with related products.
Settings for linking with PA
By linking with PA, you can acquire storage system performance information stored in Tiered Storage
Manager.
Settings for launching the GUI
Tiered Storage Manager allows you to check the performance information for both LDEVs and parity
groups from a PA GUI window.
The following describes the prerequisites for launching a PA GUI window.
• PA has been set up.
For details about the system requirements and how to set up PA, see the PA manual.
• Property files have been configured on Tiered Storage Manager server
To configure environment settings required for Tiered Storage Manager server:
1. Stop the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services.
In Windows:
Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage
Services > Stop.
In Linux:
installation-directory-of-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -stop
2. Specify the protocol, host name or IP address, and port number included in the PA URL for the
following properties in the client.properties file.
• client.launch.HPPA.report.protocol property
• client.launch.HPPA.report.host property
• client.launch.HPPA.report.port property
The format of a PA URL is as follows:
protocol://host-name-or-IP-address:port-number/pa/CVAE
