Execute the hbsa_util command to delete the files and
registry entries of the Device Manager agent.
To execute the hbsa_util command:
1. Log on to Windows as a user with Administrator per-
missions.
2. Execute the hbsa_util command.
For details on the command, see “hbsa_util command
syntax” on page 226.
In a Windows environment,
HBaseAgent is displayed in the Add or
Remove programs window even after
you uninstall both the Device Manager
agent and Hitachi Dynamic Link Man-
ager.

Another program linked with Device Manager might be
frequently accessing the Device Manager agent that is
running. If JavaVM ends abnormally, edit the following file:
installation-folder-for-Device-Manager-agent\
agent\bin\Server.cmd
Use a text editor to open the Server.cmd file, and then
add -Djava.compiler=NONE to the Java startup options.
The following shows an example of editing the Server.cmd
file:
..java -Dalet.msglang -Djava.compiler=NONE
%1 %2 -classpath ...
JavaVM ends abnormally in the follow-
ing environments: Windows Server
2003 (x64 and IPF), Windows Server
2003 R2 (x64), Windows Server 2008
(x64 and IPF), and Windows Server
2008 R2 (x64 and IPF).

log. Corruption may occur.

This occurs if there are 100 or more LUs managed by Device
Manager recognized by a single host, and the Device
Manager agent is upgraded from version 6.0.0-00 -
6.2.0-02 to version 6.4 or later via an overwrite installation.
To avoid this, follow the procedure in section “Specifying
settings when a host manages 100 or more
LUs” on page 208.
When executing the HiScan command
in a Windows Server 2008 or Win-
dows Server 2008 R2 environment, the
KAIC22009-E, KAIC22014-E, KA-
IC22019-E, or KAIC22048-E error
message is output, and host information
cannot be registered on the Device
Manager server.

When a host refresh is performed in a
Windows Server 2008 or Windows
Server 2008 R2 environment, an
OutOfMemory error occurs on the host,
and there is no response for a while.
