7-2 Explorer menu items related to setting up
security
To specify the security-related settings, display the Explorer menu, and then choose Security on
the menu. Note that Security is displayed on the Explorer menu for only users that have the User
Management Admin permission. No other users can specify security-related settings.
7-2-1 Security subwindow
Use the Security subwindow to set security management options.
7-2-1-1 List of security management options
A list of login security options is displayed in the Security subwindow.
Password
Select this option to view or set password requirements. Selecting
this option opens the Password subwindow.
Account Lock
Select this option to view or set the conditions for triggering
automatic user account locking. Selecting this option opens the
Account Locking subwindow.
Warning Banner
Select this option to view or set a warning banner message.
Selecting this option opens the Warning Banner subwindow.
7-2-2 Displaying the password requirements
You can display the password requirements that have been set. The following items can be
displayed:
• Minimum number of characters that must be used in a password
• Minimum number of characters that must be used for each of the character types (upper-case
letters, lower-case letters, numeric characters, and symbols)
• Whether the same character string as the user ID can be used
To display the password requirements:
1. On the Explorer menu, choose Administration, and then Security.
The Security subwindow opens.
2. In the object tree, choose Password under Security.
The password requirements that have been set are displayed in the Password subwindow.

The Password subwindow displays the conditions that the character string to be used for a
password must satisfy.
