7-1-5-1 Add User dialog box
Use the Add User dialog box to add a user account for HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View
Advanced Edition Suite software.
The table below describes the items displayed in the dialog box. Required items are indicated with
an asterisk (*).
Profile
*User ID
Enter a user ID.
• The character string you enter must be no more than 256 characters.
• You can use the following characters for the user ID:
A-Z a-z 0-9 ! # $ % & ' ( ) * + - . = @ \ ^ _ |
• Although the user ID is not case sensitive, the character string is
displayed as it was entered.
Notes:
○ If an external authentication server is used only for authentication,
make sure that you enter the user ID of a user account that has
already been registered on the external authentication server.
Also make sure that user accounts are specified on the external
authentication server with only character strings that can be used
for HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition
Suite software.
○ You do not need to register a user ID if you use external
authentication group linkage.
If the following conditions are met, enter a character string that includes
both a user ID and a realm:
○ A RADIUS server is specified as the connection destination in the
exauth.properties file on the management server, but
another RADIUS server that is connected to the specified
RADIUS server via the network is used for authentication.
○ Authentication is performed in a realm different from the default
realm for the Kerberos server specified in the
exauth.properties file on the management server.
For example, if the name of a user to be authenticated on a RADIUS
or Kerberos server is user1, and that user's realm is example.com,
enter [e-mail] as the user ID character string (@ is a
separator).
Entries that have the same user ID but have different realms are
authenticated as different user IDs.
*Password
Enter a password. If you add a user who will use user authentication for
HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
software, you must specify a password. However, if linkage with an
external authentication server is enabled in the exauth.properties file
on the management server, entry of a password is optional. If external
authentication group linkage is used, entry of a password is not
necessary.
• The character string you enter must be no more than 256 characters.
• You can use the following characters for the password:
0-9 A-Z a-z ! # $ % & ' ( ) * + - . = @ \ ^ _ |
Notes:
○ If password complexity requirements, such as minimum length
and combination of character types, have been set and the
password you enter does not meet them, an error message is
displayed. If an error message is displayed, review the password.
*Verify Password For confirmation, enter again the same character string you entered in *
Password. This item is required if a password was entered in *
Password.
Full Name
Enter the full name of the user. The character string you enter must be no
more than 80 characters. Note, however, that you cannot use characters
