1 Overview
Ports used by a Tuning Manager server
When setting up the firewall ports, allow communication only from storage management client
terminals and block communication through any other ports. Also specify the setting that, when a
port number is changed, communication passes for the new port number and blocked for the old
port number.
3-3 Setting up the operating system
Install the prerequisite operating system on the management server machine according to
subsection 1-3-3 and section 2-2 , and specify the required settings.
3-4 Determining the rules related to security
functions
Obtain and examine the information required for correct operation of Common Component security
functions, and decide which information to use. The information determined here will be set during
system creation.
The following items need to be examined.
3-4-1-1 Account administrator information
Determine the account administrator information that the system integrator will register during
system creation. The account administrator must be selected based on subsection 1-3-1 .
3-4-1-2 Defaults for the security parameters and the warning banner text
Based on subsection 1-3-5 and subsection 1-3-6 , determine the Common Component security
parameters that the system integrator specifies during system creation, and the text of the warning
banner.
