Cluster
Service Environment
The Device Manager server can provide higher availability in a cluster environment. This section
discusses the requirements and settings for a supported cluster environment.
3-3-1 System Requirements for a Cluster Service
The requirements for a cluster environment are as follows:
• Platform: Windows
®
2000 Advanced Server (SP 4) or Windows Server™ 2003 Enterprise
Edition (without an SP, or with SP1).
• Cluster software: Microsoft
®
Cluster Service (MSCS).
• Number of nodes: 2.
• Cluster configuration: Active-standby configuration.
IMPORTANT: If another Command View XP AE Suite product service or cluster group exists, exclude them
from cluster management. See the following section for instructions.
