• # mv /opt/HDVM/agent/JRE1.4 /opt/HDVM/agent/JRE1.4_org

4. Install JRE in the following directory.
In Solaris™, HP-UX

, and Linux

• # /opt/HDVM/agent

• # /usr/HDVM/agent
A subdirectory is created and JRE is installed in it.
5. Change the name of the subdirectory created in Step 4 to JRE1.4.
6. Restart the hdvmagt daemon process. Run the following command.
In Solaris™, HP-UX

• # /opt/HDVM/bin/hdvmagt
In AIX
®
systems:
• # /usr/HDVM/bin/hdvmagt
3-2-9 When Upgrading the Device Manager Agent with the Inherited
Environment of the Existing Device Manager Agent
When upgrading the Device Manager agent in Windows, you can make the new Device Manager
agent inherit the environment of the currently installed Device Manager agent.
To inherit the environment of the existing Device Manager agent:
1. Copy all files in the following folder and its subordinates to any folder.
installation-folder-for-Device-Manager-agent\agent\config
2. Uninstall the version 1.0 of Device Manager agent.

3. Perform a new installation of version 1.1 of Device Manager agent.
For details on how to do this, see section
2-5-1 .
4. After installation is completed, replace the files in the following folder with the files you copied in
Step 1.
installation-folder-for-Device-Manager-agent\agent\config
5. Open the Services window by choosing Management Tools and then Services.
6. Select the hdvmagt service and start it.

, if setup is performed after the Device Manager agent
installation finishes, the hdvmagt daemon process starts automatically.
