2-6 Setting Up the Device Manager Agent
After installation of the Device Manager agent finishes, set the following information for Device
Manager agent operation:
Information for the Device Manager server.
Execution period of the HiScan command.
NOTE: You can set any execution period for the HiScan command. If you do not set up the execution
period, the Device Manager server is not periodically notified of information acquired by the Device Manager
agent.
2-6-1 Setting Server Information
Set the IP address, port number, user ID, and password of the Device Manager server.
To set this server information:
1. Execute the hdvmagt_account command from the command prompt.
The hdvmagt_account command is stored in the following location:
In Windows
®
:
installation-folder-for-Device-Manager-agent\bin\
hdvmagt_account.bat
In Solaris ™, HP-UX, or Linux
®
:
/opt/HDVM/bin/hdvmagt_account
In AIX
®
:
/usr/HDVM/bin/hdvmagt_account
2. A message displays asking whether to change the Device Manager server information. Type y.
Would you like to change the Device Manager Server information?
(Y)es or (N)o. (default:N)
3. The following message appears, prompting you to enter the IP address of the Device Manager
server. Enter the IP address in the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format.
Enter the IP address of the Device Manager Server. (default:
255.255.255.255)
If you do not enter a value, the default IP address 255.255.255.255 is set. If the entered value is
not in the specified format, you will be prompted to re-enter it.
4. The following message displays, prompting you to enter the port number of the Device Manager
server. Enter the port number. The default value is 2001:
Enter the port for the Device Manager Server.(default:2001)
If you do not enter a value, the default port number 2001 is set. If the entered value is invalid,
you will be prompted to re-enter it.
The following message displays, prompting you to enter the user ID for logging on to the Device
Manager server. Enter the user ID:
Enter the Device Manager Server user ID.
