5 Security management
This chapter explains security functions that can be used in Replication Manager.
Network communications security
To provide security for the communication routes used by Replication Manager, you can use the HTTPS
protocol to encrypt communications. The following routes can be encrypted:
(1) Between the management client and Replication Manager (on the management server)
(2) Between Replication Manager on one management server and Device Manager server (on another
management server)
(3) Between Replication Manager and Device Manager server (both on the same management server)
(4) Between Replication Manager (on the management server) and HP StorageWorks P9000 for
Business Continuity Manager Software (on a host)
This section explains the communication security of these communication routes. The numbers (1), (2),
(3), and (4) correspond to those in the diagram that follows.
