Parameters
Table 25 AddLogicalUnit command parameters
DescriptionStatusParameter name
Serial number of the storage system where the LU is addedRequired
serialnum
Model of the storage system where the LU is addedRequired
model
Number of the chassis for the parity group where the LU is added
If you specify this parameter, make sure that groupnum is also
specified.
Always specify either the chassis and groupnum parameters
together, or the arraygroupname parameter by itself. Do not
specify arraygroupname together with chassis and
groupnum. Doing so will result in an error.
Optional
chassis
Number of the parity group where the LU is added
If you specify this parameter, make sure that groupnum is also
specified.
Always specify either the chassis and groupnum parameters
together, or the arraygroupname parameter by itself. Do not
specify arraygroupname together with chassis and
groupnum. Doing so will result in an error.
Optional
groupnum
Display name for the parity group where the LU is added
When this parameter is specified, do not specify chassis or
groupnum.
Always specify either the chassis and groupnum parameters
together, or the arraygroupname parameter by itself. Do not
specify arraygroupname together with chassis and
groupnum. Doing so will result in an error.
Optional
arraygroupname
Index number of the region of unused capacity to be used for
creating an LU
Specify the index number of a region of unused capacity in a
parity group.
If you specify this parameter, also specify the creationoption
parameter.
If you omit this parameter, the regions of unused capacity that
are used are determined as follows:
• If you specify bulk for creationoption, all regions of un-
used capacity are used.
You cannot create an LU across multiple regions of unused
capacity. Therefore, if you specify an LU capacity (capacity)
and the number of LUs (numoflus) to be created, and there
are not enough regions of unused capacity whose capacity
is greater than or equal to the specified LU capacity, an error
occurs.
• If you specify dividebycap or dividebynum for creation-
option, the largest of all the regions of unused capacity is
used.
