log in again.
When Device Manager manages a P9500 that includes Continuous Access or Continuous
Access Journal
When Device Manager manages a P9500 with Continuous Access or Continuous Access Journal
installed, set the following properties in the server.properties file to false:
server.agent.differentialrefresh.periodical.enabled
server.agent.differentialrefresh.manual.enabled
If the properties are set to true (the default), the displayed copy-pair information might be incomplete.
Changing the host name
If a user changes the case of any letters in the target host name to uppercase or lowercase, after
refreshing host information, running the HiScan command, or restarting the Device Manager agent
service on a host, pair information might not be managed by the host.
To change the case of a host name:
1. Stop the Device Manager agent service and automatic execution of the HiScan command on the
host.
2. Change the target host name.
3. From the Device Manager GUI or CLI, change the host name to a different name (for example,
change the host name from ABCD to EFGH).
4. Start the Device Manager agent service and automatic execution of the HiScan command on the
host.
5. From the Device Manager GUI or CLI, delete the host whose name was changed.
6. Refresh the information displayed for the storage systems to which the LUNs recognized by the
target host belong.
Using Device Manager to manage a virtual machine
When Device Manager manages a virtual machine, the characters in the machine name in the following
appear as encoded characters:
GUI: The value of [VMname] displayed in a virtual machine name subwindow
CLI: The name attribute value for VM instances that is collected by executing the GetHost
command
The following characters might appear as encoded characters:
