The target host is Solaris, Linux, or HP-UX, and more than 256 volumes are attached in the host.
HBA information cannot be obtained for HP-UX IPF. Download the 32-bit HBA SNIA library from the
HBA vendor site, and then install the library on the target host. If no library exists, install the Device
Manager agent on the target host.
Host Data Collector host registration failure
Detailed error messages might not appear correctly if registering hosts using Host Data Collector on
a non-English (such as Japanese) Windows system.
Using Host Data Collector on a Solaris 9 host
Solaris 9 CPU usage might increase to 100% if Host Data Collector attempts to register a Windows
host. If this happens, reboot the Solaris server.
Registering a Solaris host through Host Data Collector
The metastat_pXXXX.rst files created by Host Data Collector in the /tmp directory on the Solaris
host are not deleted after registering hosts or if the refresh is over.
Removing Host Data Collector from a Solaris host
After removing Host Data Collector from a Solaris environment, the message Some items could
not be removed Is displayed. Ignore this message because removing Host Data Collector was
successful.
Registering Linux, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX hosts through Host Data Collector
The error message does not display the cause correctly if the system locale on the target host is set to
a non-English language and the character encoding is not UTF-8.
Registering HP-UX 11i v2 (IPF and PA-RISC) or 11i v3 (PA-RISC) hosts through Host Data
Collector
Registering or refreshing hosts of HP-UX 11i v2 (IPF and PA-RISC) or 11i v3 (PA-RISC) hosts times out
if a stale NFS mount exists on the target host. Registering hosts of the same target host fails with the
following error message:
ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the remote server. (Remote server: <Target host IP address>, Cause: Error
during SCP transfer.)
If this error persists, determine whether a Host Data Collector binary process exists on the target host
by executing the following command:
ps -ef |grep /tmp/FsDataGather
If this process exists, delete all processes listed by the command by executing the command kill
-9 <process ID> on the target host. Then, unmount the stale NFS and execute registering hosts or
refresh hosts again.
Registering Solaris 10 hosts through Host Data Collector
A zpool_history_<zfs pool name>-<1 to 6-digit number>.rst file with a file size of
0 bytes is created in the tmp directory when you:
Register a host, or update host information.
Have a ZFS pool name that is longer than 98 bytes.
