HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Release Notes (TK981-96008, May 2014)
If this issue occurs repeatedly, create a new Windows user account, and then use the new user account
to operate the browser.
Storage device virtualization tasks
If a storage device virtualization task does not complete, volumes of an external storage system may
remain allocated to an internal storage system.
If you execute another storage device virtualization task for the allocated volumes, the attempt generates
the error KAIC15001-E.
In such a case, virtualize the storage devices by using one of the following methods:
• GUI operation (unallocation followed by virtualization)
Perform either of the following operations, and then retry the volume virtualization task:
◦ Delete the paths that are assigned to the external volume.
◦ Create new paths by selecting ports other than ports of either the internal storage system or
the external storage system.
• GUI operation (virtualization via volume discovery)
Virtualize the storage devices as follows: in the Virtualize Volumes dialog box, under External,
select Search new systems/volumes by port scan.
• Non-GUI operation
Use the CLI to execute the AddExternalArrayGroup command.◦
◦ Use Element Manager, HP XP P9000 Remote Web Console, or HP XP Remote Web Console.
The number of external parity groups selected to be unvirtualized
If you select a large number of external parity groups to be unvirtualized, and submit an Unvirtualize
task, the processing to register the task might take several minutes.
The processing takes about one minute for 1,000 external parity groups.
Operating systems supported by the Device Manager agent
The Device Manager agent does not support Windows Server 2012 R2 yet.
Virtualizing storage devices by users who can operate permitted ports only
When a volume virtualization task that meets all of the following conditions is created, some of the
task information becomes invalid, and the task generates the KAIC07810-E error.
• XP P9500 is selected as the internal storage system.
• A storage system that is discovered by Device Manager is selected as the external storage system.
• External storage ports that meet all of the following conditions are selected:
The WWNs of the internal storage ports to be used for virtualization of storage devices are
not registered in any host groups.
◦
◦ The WWNs of other internal storage ports are registered in a host group.
◦ The operating user is not permitted to operate the internal storage ports that are registered
in a host group
If the above conditions are met, use one of the following methods to register, in a host group of the
external storage system, the WWNs of the internal storage ports to be used to virtualizestorage devices.
Then, create a new volume virtualization task and execute it.
