HP XP7 Command View Advanced Edition CLI Reference Guide (TK981-96006, May 2014)
Description and recommended actionProblem
CAUSE: The size of the request to be sent to the Device Manager
server might be too large because many targets for operations were
specified in a single command line.
SOLUTION: Take the following actions:
1. Increase the memory heap size of the Device Manager CLI.
2. Increase the memory heap size of the Device Manager server.
For details about how to set the memory heap size of the Device
Manager CLI, see “Changing the memory heap size of the Device
Manager CLI” on page 23. For details about how to set the memory
heap size of the Device Manager server, see the HP XP7 Command
View Advanced Edition Administrator Guide.
If taking the above actions does not resolve the problem, execute
the command multiple times, with each command operating on a
subset of the original targets.
An OutOfMemoryError occurred dur-
ing execution of a Device Manager CLI
command.
CAUSE: In Windows, if the configuration definition file in the system
folder (the folder represented by the %windir% environment
variable) satisfies both of the following conditions, an error occurs
during a host refresh operation:
• The HORCM_MON parameter is not defined.
• The HORCM_CMD parameter is defined.
SOLUTION: Take one of the following actions, and then re-execute
the command.
• Define the HORCM_MON parameter in the configuration definition
file.
• Change the configuration definition file name to a name other
than horcminstance-number.conf.
• Delete the configuration definition file.
If an attempt to refresh the host that
centrally manages copy pairs is
performed, the following message is
displayed and the attempt fails:
[KAIC07792-E] An attempt to
acquire pair volume
information on the host
"host-name" has failed. Error
details: "error-detail".
CAUSE: The user who executed the command might not be able
to use any storage systems due to the following causes:
• The storage systems are not registered in Device Manager.
• No storage system exists for which information can be refreshed
by the user who executed the command.
SOLUTION: Check the following:
• The storage systems are registered in Device Manager.
• The user group to which the user who executed the command
belongs has been assigned the role necessary for the operation.
The following execution result is
displayed when the
RefreshStorageArrays command is
executed:
RESPONSE:
(Command completed; no data
returned)
CAUSE: The settings of JRE do not allow using JSSE.
SOLUTION: Add the following line to the
JRE-installation-destination/lib/security/
java.security file:
ssl.SocketFactory.provider=com.sun.net.
ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketFactoryImpl
An error occurs if SSL communication is
used in AIX.
SOLUTION: Change the command prompt settings as follows:
• Change the font to Lucida Console.
• Run chcp 1252 from the command line.
If the Windows locale is set to French,
numeric values in the command execution
results are displayed incorrectly.
