Commands related to resources used for data migrations that
use virtual information
For HP XP7 storage systems in which the Online Migration function is used to migrate data,
migration-source information is registered in the migration-destination resources as virtual information.
This also applies to P9500 storage systems in which virtual IDs are used to migrate data.
Resources that contain virtual information belong to virtual resource groups. For P9500 storage systems,
the resource groups are managed by storage system management tools.
NOTE:
• You cannot use Device Manager to perform operations on older models of storage systems from
which resources containing virtual information are migrated.
• You cannot perform Device Manager operations during data migration that uses virtual IDs.
The onDataMigration attribute indicates that data is being migrated. To view this attribute,
execute the GetStorageArray (subtarget=VResourcePartitionUnit) command, and
then check the VResourcePartitionUnit instance output in the execution result.
For HP XP7, you can use the commands supported by “List of Device Manager CLI
commands” on page 33.
You can perform operations on resources that contain virtual information for P9500 with a microcode
version of 70-03-30-XX/XX or later. Also, you can register, modify, and delete virtual information for
P9500 with a microcode version of 70-05-04-XX/XX or later.
