HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software 7.5.0-00 Administrator Guide (Web Version) (TB581-96346, July 2013)
• The management server must recognize a command device.
The command device security must not be used for a command device.
• From a command device, LUN security must be set for the pair management server.
To manage copy pairs for Continuous Access or Continuous Access Journal, LUN security
must be set for the host, from the command devices of the storage systems of both the P-VOL
and S-VOL.
CAUTION:
If the pair management server is connected to a command device whose
authentication mode is enabled, you need to authenticate users by executing the
raidcom command on the pair management server before performing copy pair
operations from the GUI or CLI. If the application server OS is Windows, you need
to authenticate users as a Device Manager agent service (HBsA Service) execution
user.
Resource group conditions (when managing partitioned resources in P9500):
• The volumes below, or a storage system containing the volumes below, must be registered in
a resource group managed by the user.
- P-VOL
- S-VOL
- All pool volumes that make up a pool (when managing Snapshot or Fast Snap pairs)
- All journal volumes that make up a journal (when managing Continuous Access Journal pairs)
• A shared resource group in which a command device has been registered must be created
and assigned to each user.
Note that, if each user uses a different command device, register the command device in a
resource group managed by the users, instead of registering them in a shared resource group.
