Starting services

You can start the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services from the Windows menu or by

using the hcmdssrv command.

Operations to complete in advance

• Log in as a user with Administrator permissions (for Windows) or as a root user (for Linux).

To start the services:

• Perform the following operations.

In Windows:

Start the services in either of the following ways:

In Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server

2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage

Services > Start - Command View AE Suite.

In Windows Server 2012

From the Start window, select All apps, HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite,

and then Start - Command View AE Suite.

By using the following command:

installation-folder-for-Common-Component\bin\hcmdssrv /start

In Linux:

Execute the following command:

installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -start

The following services are started in a batch, and the results of starting the services are displayed in

the window:

• HiRDB

• HBase Storage Mgmt Common Service

• HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service

• HBase Storage Mgmt Web SSO Service (Windows only)

• HCS Device Manager Web Service

• DeviceManagerServer

• HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager

• All P9000 Command View AE Suite product services present on the same server

CAUTION:

Services of other P9000 Command View AE Suite products whose versions are 5.7 or later are started

at the same time.
