Installing P9000 Command View AE Suite on the executing node (upgrade or overwrite

installation)

To install P9000 Command View AE Suite on the executing node as an upgrade or overwrite installation:

1. Make sure that you can access the shared disk from the executing and standby nodes.

2. Perform an upgrade or overwrite installation of P9000 Command View AE Suite.

In the Pre-Installation Confirmation window, confirm that the setting for Back up the database

prior to the installation is Yes.

If the setting is No, click the Advanced Settings button to open the Edit Advanced Installation

Settings window. Select Backup from the Setting menu, and then select the Back up the database

prior to the installation. check box.

3. Execute the following command to back up the database after the upgrade or overwrite installation

is complete:

installation-folder-of-Common-Component\bin\hcmdsbackups /dir

target-folder-for-storing-backup-files /auto

dir

Using an absolute path, specify the local disk folder for the database backup files.

Verify that the folder for the dir option is empty.

auto

This option automatically changes the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services and

the HiRDB service to the statuses required for backing up the database. After the command

is completed, the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services and the HiRDB service

become active.

NOTE:

When you execute the hcmdsbackups command, a folder named database is created

in the target folder for storing backup files, and a database backup file is created with the

name backup.hdb.

4. If the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services are running, stop them.

5. In the Services window, open the properties for the following services, and then change Startup

Type from Automatic to Manual:

• HBase Storage Mgmt Common Service

• HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service

• HCS Device Manager Web Service

• DeviceManagerServer

• HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager

6. Use the cluster management application to select the resource group in which the P9000 Command

View AE Suite product services are registered, and then from the right-click menu, move the

resource group to the standby node.
