Sending SNMP traps to log files
Device Manager receives SNMP traps issued by devices on the network and outputs them to log files.
SNMP traps (SNMP version1 only) issued by devices that are not management targets can also be
output to log files, as well as SNMP traps issued by the management-target storage systems.
Received SNMP traps are output to the following files:
Event log or syslog
P9000 Command View AE Suite shared trace log files (hntr2n.log)
Device Manager trace log files (HDvMtracen.log)
Trace log files (trace.log)
Error log files (error.log)

Output only if the severity level is Error, Critical, or Alert. The severity levels for SNMP
traps are specified for the customizedsnmptrap.customizelist property in the cus-
tomizedsnmptrap.properties file.
The following SNMP trap information is output:
Message ID indicating that a trap was received (prefix: KAID)
Sender (agent)
Enterprise ID (enterprise)
Generic trap number (generic)
Specific trap number (specific)
If integrated management software is linked with, you can centrally monitor the operational status of
all network resources, including the storage resources managed by Device Manager.
