5 Configuring Device Manager for use with
related products
This chapter describes the settings required for linking with related products.
Linking with PA
By linking Device Manager and Tiered Storage Manager to PA, you can check performance
information, such as the parity group usage rate and the volume IOPS, and the PA GUI can be
launched from Device Manager or Tiered Storage Manager.
Prerequisites for displaying performance information
The prerequisites for displaying performance information obtained by PA in the Mobility tab are as
follows:
• PA has been set up.
For details about the system requirements and setup method, see the PA manual.
• The CLI client library has been installed.
For details about installing the CLI client library, see the PA manuals.
• The server time zone for PA server and for Device Manager server must match.
If the time zone differs between the servers, the performance information are not displayed. In
addition, we recommend that both server time matches.
To configure environment settings required for the Device Manager server:
1. Stop the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services.
2. Edit the hppa.properties file of Device Manager.
3. Start the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services.
4. Confirm that the settings are specified correctly by using either of the following methods:
• When using the GUI:
In the Refresh Storage Systems window, select the Refresh Performance data check box, and
then refresh the storage system. After that, in the Data Collection Tasks tab, confirm that
Completed is displayed for Status of the Refresh Storage Systems task.
• When using the CLI:
Execute the RefreshPerformanceData command, and confirm that the command finished
successfully.
