3-4-2 Restoring Repositories in a Cluster Environment
You will perform the restoration on the executing node. For the repository backup file, use a file that is stored
on a shared disk that can be accessed from both the executing and standby nodes.
1. Log on as an administrator.
2. In Cluster Administrator, right-click the following resources in the resource group where the Device
Manager service is registered, and then select Take Offline:
• HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager
• HiCommandServer
• HiCommand Suite Common Web Service
• HiCommand Suite Single Sign On Service
3. Stop the Command View XP AE Suite Common Component:
<Command-View-XP-AE-Suite-Common-Component-installation-folder>\bin\hcmdssrv
/stop
4. In Cluster Administrator, right-click the HiRDB/ClusterService _HD0 resource and select Take Offline.
5. The restore command for type is case sensitive. Open the command prompt window and enter one of the
following commands:

/restore <absolute-path-of-backup-file>See Note /type ALL
• Individual restoration:

folder-for-storing-backup-files folder that is specified in section
3-3 .
6. In Cluster Administrator, right-click the following resources in the resource group where the Device
Manager service is registered, and then select Take Online:

7. If you restored the repository for Device Manager, use Device Manager to perform a refresh.
8. Use Tiered Storage Manager to refresh all storage domains.
If you restore a repository, the actual status for a storage subsystem might not match the status for a
migration task managed by Tiered Storage Manager. This changes the displayed status for a migration
task that is waiting or being executed to a failed status. After restoring a repository, perform the following
procedure:
a. Start Tiered Storage Manager.
b. Check the message log for Tiered Storage Manager and verify whether the KATS50354-E message
is output. The task IDs for migration tasks that were changed to failed statuses are listed in
KATS50354-E.
c. View the volume information for migration tasks listed in the KATS50354-E message, and check
whether each migration task finished.
d. Perform migration again for migration tasks that have not finished.
