Overview of Tiered Storage Manager 16
Figure 1-7 System Configuration in a Cluster Environment
To implement a cluster configuration, the following machines should be connected via a TCP/IP network.
• Management server (executing)
• Management server (standby)
• Management client
• Domain controller
• Host
External storage subsystems can be managed in a cluster configuration. For details on configuration with
external storage connections, see section
1-5-3 .
1-6 Changing User Information
If you change the user ID or password for accessing Device Manager (specified when installing Tiered Storage
Manager), execute the Tiered Storage Manager command for changing user information (htsmmodhdvmuser)
to update your user ID and password. This command can be executed by a System Administrator or Storage
Administrator when Device Manager is active.
Changes made by using the htsmmodhdvmuser command take effect after the Tiered Storage Manager
server restarts.
Move the current folder to Tiered-Storage-Manager-server-installation-folder\bin and then execute the
following command:
htsmmodhdvmuser userID password
NOTE: userID specifies the new user ID for accessing Device Manager, and password specifies the
password for the new user ID, which is used to log on to Device Manager.
