The user account for the user ID specified during XP Replication Monitor software installation or the user name
specified during the registration of the Device Manager server as the information source must have Modify
permission for Device Manager and All Resources assigned to its resource group.
5-2 Security related to network access
When XP Replication Monitor software is running, the management server and management client use the
following types of network communication routes:
7. Communication route between the XP Replication Monitor server of the management server and the Device
Manager server of another management server
8. Communication route between the XP Replication Monitor server and the Device Manager server inside the
management server
9. Communication route between the management client and the XP Replication Monitor server of the
management server
This section explains the communication security in these communication routes. The numbers 1, 2, and 3 in the
preceding list correspond to the numbers shown in
Figure 5-1.

The following two other types of communication routes are also used:
• Communication route between the XP Replication Monitor server of the management server and the Device
Manager agent of the pair management server
• Communication route between the XP Replication Monitor server of the management server and the
Business Continuity Manager
For these two communication routes, HTTP is used as the communication protocol.
