Figure 4-4 Dialog box for confirming deletion of a Business Continuity Manager
5. Select Yes. I have confirmed the above information and wish to remove Business Continuity Managers.
The Confirm button is enabled.
6. Click the Confirm button.
Deletion begins and a dialog box shows the progress. Once the process is complete, a dialog box
indicates that the Business Continuity Manager has been deleted.
4-2-3-3 Deleting the link to the information source (Device Manager)
You can use the dialog box that appears when you select Go and then Links in the global tasks bar area to set a
link to an information source (URL of the information source's server). This enables the information source (the
Device Manager server) to be called from the web client. If you subsequently delete the information source, you
must use the hcmdslink command to delete the link.
An example of the hcmdslink command for deleting a link is shown below (in this example, the management
server uses a Windows OS):
hcmdslink /delete /file C:\SampleLink.txt /user system /pass manager
Specify the delete option in the hcmdslink command together with the file option that specifies the link to
be deleted. The file option must specify the same text file that was used when the link was set.
The following shows an example of such a text file:
@TOOL-LINK
@NAME SampleApp
@URL http://SampleApp/index.html
@DISPLAYNAME SampleApplication
@DISPLAYORDER 10
@ICONURL http://SampleApp/graphic/icon.gif
@TOOL-END
This example deletes the link to the program named SampleApplication, which appears in the dialog box.
For details about the hcmdslink command, see the manual HP StorageWorks Command View XP Advanced
Edition software Device Manager server installation and configuration guide.
4-2-4 Backing up the XP Replication Monitor database
You must back up the XP Replication Monitor database when its contents have changed due to a deleted
information source.
