HP StorageWorks XP Replication Monitor software installation and configuration guide (T1784-96008, November 2006)
Installing XP Replication Monitor software 41
Monitor software, you must first uninstall XP Replication Monitor software, install and set up the Device Manager,
and then reinstall XP Replication Monitor software.
Note that if XP Replication Monitor software is uninstalled when it is the only Command View XP AE Suite product
installed on the management server, the Command View XP AE Suite product user management information also
is lost.
2-6-2 Notes on stopping Command View XP AE Suite product services and
daemons
This subsection gives notes on stopping a service or daemon using the hcmdssrv command in an environment
where Device Manager has been installed.
• Executing the hcmdssrv command with the stop option specified stops the following services or
daemons:
• HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service
• HBase Storage Mgmt Common Service
• HiRDB
If a Command View XP AE Suite product other than the Device Manager or XP Replication Monitor software
is installed, the services or daemons of that Command View XP AE Suite product can also stop. For details,
see the relevant Command View XP AE product manual.
• If the hcmdssrv command is executed with the stop option specified while another Command View XP
AE Suite product service or daemon (for example, DeviceManagerServer) is running, the following message
appears:
KAPM06445-E HiRDB cannot be stopped because a Suite product is connected to
HiRDB.
In such a case, stop the running Command View XP AE Suite product service or daemon, and then re-
execute the hcmdssrv command.
• In Windows, HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0 must always be running for Command View XP AE Suite
products. Check whether HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0 is running by viewing the list in the Services
window. If HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0 is not running, start HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0.
• In Windows, do not start or stop HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0 using the Services window (displayed
by selecting Start, Setting, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and then Services). Doing so prevents the
hcmdssrv command from operating normally. If you mistakenly perform the operation, make sure that
Startup Type for HiRDB/EmbeddedEdition_HD0 is set to Automatic, and then restart the computer.
• In Windows, when the hcmdssrv command with the stop option is executed immediately after
DeviceManagerServer is stopped, the status of HBase Storage Mgmt Common Service can change to
Stopping. In such a case, wait for a while, make sure that the displayed status of HBase Storage Mgmt
Common Service changes to a blank (which indicates that the service is inactive), and then re-execute the
hcmdssrv
command.
