Replication Monitor is running on the management server at the primary site, you do not need the XP Replication
Monitor software server on the management server at the secondary site.
NOTE: HP recommends that you configure the system so that all copy pairs in the storage subsystems are
managed by pair management servers. Collecting pair status information on copy pairs that are not managed
by a pair management server takes a long time because you need to perform a Device Manager refresh
operation (which updates the Device Manager database).
1-1-2 Standard configuration of a mainframe system
The following figure illustrates the recommended standard configuration for a mainframe system.
This configuration consists of three sites: a primary, an intermediate, and a secondary site.
