Provisioning Manager Server forms storage pools from storage subsystems, and allocates volumes to
hosts, allowing the user to access the Device Manager agent to manage file systems.
NOTE: Install the Provisioning Manager server and the Device Manager agent on different machines.
Provisioning Manager Client allows users to access the server using a web browser. For more
information about using Provisioning Manager, see HP StorageWorks XP Provisioning Manager User
Guide
(T1783-96002).

1-3-1 Hardware Configuration
You will need the following components:
Host (application server)
Storage subsystem
Management server
Management client
The storage subsystems that can be operated on by Provisioning Manager are basically the same as those
supported for Device Manager. For details, see the

NOTE: Setting and reference operations for mainframe volumes are not supported.
