2. Back up the database.

3. Stop the following services:
• Device Manager server
• XP Command View AE Suite Common Component

4. On the target machine, create a working directory and change move to the directory as follows:
[/]# mkdir /tmp
[/]# cd /tmp
5. Copy the Linux update package to the working directory.
Perform all subsequent steps as a superuser.
6. Restore the update package using the uncompress and tar commands.
In the following example, the file /tmp/T1780-10509_lnx_svr_6.2.0-01.Z is in the /tmp working
directory.
[/tmp/]# uncompress /tmp/T1780-10509_lnx_svr_6.2.0-01.Z
[/tmp/]# tar xvf /tmp/T1780-10509_lnx_svr_6.2.0-01
x UPDATE, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
x PRODUCT.INI, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
...
7. Execute the command UPDATE to apply the package that was restored in step 6.
The following message is displayed and the search for the target product is performed.
[/tmp/]# ./UPDATE
**********************************************************************
* Update Utility
**********************************************************************
[XPCVAE 062001] XP Command View AE Device Manager
Now searching for target products...
If the target product is found, the following message appears:
[XPCVAE 062000] is found.
Do you want to update it(y/n)? >
If you want to update the product, enter y.
If you want to stop the update, enter n.
8. Start the following services:
• XP Command View AE Suite Common Component
• Device Manager server
