3 Preparations before System Creation
This chapter describes the preparations required for creating a system in the configuration
evaluated based on ISO/IEC 15408 for HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition
Common Component.
Selecting the Storage Management Software (See section 3-1 )
Installing Hardware (See section 3-2 )
Setting Up the Operating System (See section 3-3 )
Determining the Rules Related to Security Functions (See section 3-4 )
3-1 Selecting the Storage Management Software
Select the HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition software required for system
operation according to subsection 1-3-3 and section 2-2 , and then obtain the components, such as
media and license key, required for installation.
3-2 Installing Hardware
Install the hardware in the system according to subsection 1-3-2 and section 2-1 . Also set up a
firewall as described in the firewall documentation. The required settings vary depending on the HP
StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition software that is used. For the actual settings,
see the applicable reference in the following table.

When setting up the firewall ports, permit communication only for the ports that are indicated in the
above manuals and that either will be used in the system being created or are required by the
prerequisite software or for system operation. Set up the firewall to block communication through
any other ports. Also specify the setting that, when a port number is changed, communication
passes for the new port number and blocked for the old port number.
3-3 Setting Up the Operating System
Install the prerequisite operating system on the management server machine according to
subsection 1-3-3 and section 2-2 , and specify the required settings.
