Post-installation tasks (overwrite or upgrade)
After performing an overwrite or upgrade P9000 Command View AE Software installation, set the
information required by each installed product according to version of each product before the
overwrite or upgrade installation:
• For all overwrite or upgrade installations:
• Back up the database
• Refresh each storage system
• Synchronize databases if Replication Manager is used (even if you don’t register a Replication
Manager license) and you use P9000 Command View AE Software to manage copy pairs
• Reset the user accounts after upgrading from one of the following versions:
• Versions 5.00 to 5.10-04
• Versions 5.50 to 5.50-02
• Version 5.60
When you upgrade from version 7.0.1 or earlier, existing user accounts are migrated according to
the resource groups that were assigned to the user account before the upgrade installation.
After the overwite or upgrade installation, the storage administrator can modify user group and
resource group assignments as necessary.

Backing up the database
To prepare against failures, back up the database after you have finished the installation.
To back up a database:
1. Log on to the management server as a user with administrator or root permissions.
