• Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager(HDLM) manages the storage access paths to and from the host
on which it is installed. The HDLM GUI can be displayed from the Device Manager Web Client.

• HP StorageWorks XP Provisioning Manager is a product whose purpose is to assign volumes to
the server, and to expand file systems easily. When assigning volumes or expanding file
systems, a series of operations are required, such as selecting the most appropriate storage for
use, creating device files on the server, as well as creating and mounting file systems. HP
StorageWorks XP Provisioning Manager automates such operations, reducing the workload on

• HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager provides a method of transferring data to an
appropriate storage subsystem according to the data characteristics (severity level and access
frequency). HP StorageWorks XP Tiered Storage Manager optimizes the arrangement of data in
an environment where multiple storage subsystems are centralized using XP12000 or XP10000

• HP StorageWorks XP Replication Monitor displays the copy pair configuration for the entire
system in a way that is easy to understand from the viewpoint of the configuration definition of
hosts, storage subsystems, and copy pairs. You can also set up monitoring so that HP
StorageWorks XP Replication Monitor automatically notifies the user when an error is detected.

• RAID Manager XP is installed on a host, and manages HP StorageWorks XP Series disk arrays
from a command line. RAID Manager XP tasks include collecting information about storage pair
configurations and reporting the information to the Device Manager server. For more information

• Continuous Access XP can create a replica of one or more volumes in a remote disk array. For
more information on Continuous Access XP please see the following documents:

• HP Disk/Cache Partition allows you to partition the storage and the cache of a XP12000 and
XP10000 disk array.
NOTE: If you use Device Manager to directly manage storage logical partitions, you will need a separate
Device Manager server for each partition. If you use Device Manager to link and launch Remote Web
Console, you can use a single server to manage a partitioned disk array.
