HP P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.4.0-00 Configuration Guide (TB584-96058, December 2012)

2. SQL Server cluster configurations are supported on the guest OS if the disk being used is directly
connected using iSCSI.
3. This is supported for SQL Server 2005 SP3 or later. The status of Windows Server 2008 Hyper-
V support depends on the method used to connect to the guest OS.
4. Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are supported.
5. The SQL Server cluster configuration on multiple guest operating systems is supported by V7.1.0
or later if the following conditions are met:
a. The disk used is an iSCSI direct connect.
b. The SQL Server version used is one of the following:
SQL Server 2005
SQL Server 2008
SQL Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2012

NOTE:
The following restrictions apply:
SQL Server cluster configurations are not supported on guest operating systems, except for a
limited subset of configurations
between
guest operating systems, which are supported only in
Replication Manager version 7.1 and later. However, note that in these configurations, you must
use disks that are directly connected to iSCSI, and the SQL version must be one of the following:
SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, and SQL Server 2012.
The backup server cannot support a Windows Server Hyper-V environment if a pass-through
connection is used and the secondary volume is recognized dynamically (hidden). Backup using
VSS is not supported if a pass-through connection is used.
