Checking audit log data
• In Windows:
Audit log data is output as event logs in the following locations:
• Windows XP
In Description which is displayed when the event is opened by selecting Event Viewer and then
Application.
• Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2003 R2
In Description of Event Properties which is displayed when the event is opened by selecting
Event Viewer and then Application.
• Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows
Server 2012
In the General tab of Event Properties which is displayed when the event is opened by selecting
Event Viewer, Windows Logs, and then Application.
Audit log data has the following format.
program-name [process-ID]: message-portion
