User ID
For P9500, XP24000/XP20000, XP12000/XP10000/SVS200,
and XP1024/XP128:
Specify the user ID used to access the storage system.
You cannot omit this parameter when using the command to
perform initial registration of information. However, you can
omit this parameter when updating information, if you do
not change the user ID.
For an SMI-S Enabled storage system:
Specify the user ID used to access the SMI-S provider.
You cannot omit this parameter when using the command to
perform initial registration of information. However, you can
omit this parameter when using the command to refresh the
information about the storage system.

For P9500, XP24000/XP20000, XP12000/XP10000/SVS200,
and XP1024/XP128:
Specify the user password used to access the storage system.
You cannot omit this parameter when using the command to
perform initial registration of information. However, you can

Protocol
Specify the data transfer protocol used by the SMI-S provider.
One of the following values can be specified. The values are not
case-sensitive.
• Non-secure: HTTP communication
• Secure: HTTPS communication
If you omit this parameter when initially registering an SMI-S
Enabled storage system, Secure is set.

If this parameter is omitted, one of the following values is set. The
value set depends on the value specified for the protocol
parameter.

Specify this parameter to refresh a particular SMI-S Enabled
storage system. Specify the object ID obtained from another CLI
response. The value is encoded by the CLI.
