DescriptionStatusParameter name
Tiering policy to be applied to Smart volumes.
• 0: Level 0 (places the data in all tiers)
• 1: Level 1 (places the data preferentially in Tier 1)
• 2: Level 2 (places the data in both tiers when there are two
tiers, and preferentially in Tiers 1 and 2 when there are three
tiers)
• 3: Level 3 (places the data in both tiers when there are two
tiers, and preferentially in Tier 2 when there are three tiers)
• 4: Level 4 (places the data in both tiers when there are two
tiers, and preferentially in Tiers 2 and 3 when there are three
tiers)
• 5: Level 5 (places the data preferentially in Tier 2 when there
are two tiers, and preferentially in Tier 3 when there are three
tiers)
• 6 to 31: Tiering policies 6 to 31
Tiering policies 6 to 31 can be modified by using the Modi-
fyTieringPolicy command.
For details about setting tiering policies 6 to 31, see Table
74.
Specify the policyID value output by the TieringPolicy
instance for this parameter.
The values that can be specified vary depending on the microcode
version.
• If the microcode version is 70-02-50-00/00 or later, or is
earlier than 70-03-XX-XX/XX: 0, 1, or 5 can be specified.
If you specify a value from 2 to 4, the data is placed in all
tiers.
• If the microcode version is 70-03-XX-XX/XX or later, or is
earlier than 70-05-XX-XX/XX: 0 to 5 can be specified.
• If the microcode version is 70-05-XX-XX/XX or later: 0 to 31
can be specified.
Optional
(P9500)
tieringpolicy
Specify whether to subject Smart volumes to hardware tier
relocation.
Either of the following values can be specified:
• enable: Subject to hardware tier relocation
• disable: Not subject to hardware tier relocation
Optional

tierrelocation
Parameter values to obtain in advance
serialnum and model
Obtain these values from the execution result of the GetStorageArray command. In the execution
result, use the arrayType value or the displayArrayType value to specify the model para-
meter, and use the serialNumber value to specify the serialnum parameter.
devnums
Obtain this value from the execution result of the GetStorageArray (subtarget=LDEV)
command. Execute this command by specifying only the model and serialnum parameters,
and LDEV for the subtarget parameter. In the execution result of this command, the devNum
