3. If the OS is Linux, edit the /etc/hosts file.
Change the host name of the management server to the new host name. For Linux, write the new
host name into the line above the localhost line.
4. Edit the httpsd.conf file.
Change the value for the ServerName parameter to the new host name.
• In Windows:
installation-folder-for-Common-Component\httpsd\conf\httpsd.conf
• In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/httpsd/conf/httpsd.conf
If TLS/SSL is used for communication between the management server and management clients,
you also need to change the following settings:
• If a host name has been specified for the <VirtualHost> tag, change the host name to an
asterisk (*).
• Change the value for the ServerName parameter in the <VirtualHost> tag to the new
host name.
5. Edit the cluster.conf file (only for a cluster configuration).
Change the corresponding logical host name, executing node's host name, and standby node's
host name to the new host names.

6. Change the host name for the management server, and then restart the computer.
If you have changed the host name for the management server before changing the Common
Component settings files, just restart the computer.
7. Make sure that the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services are running properly.
• In Windows:
Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage
Services > Status.
• In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -status
8. If the host name is used in the URLs of P9000 Command View AE Suite products, change the
settings of all P9000 Command View AE Suite products that are installed on the management
server.
For details on how to change the URLs, see “ Changing the URL for accessing P9000 Command
View AE Suite products” on page 87.
9. Depending on the operating environment, review the P9000 Command View AE Suite product
settings.
For details about the settings that need to be changed, see “Required settings after changing the
IP address or host name of the management server” on page 87.
10. Back up the database.
If you change the host name, the data that you backed up can no longer be used. For details
about backing up the database, see “Backing up databases” on page 185.
