HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software Update 7.1.0-02 Release Notes (TB581-96077, August 2011)
About adding virtualization servers
The Add Virtualization Server - Completed dialog box is not displayed correctly if the name of a host
in the virtualization server list does not use any of the following characters:
A - Z, a - z, 0 - 9, !, #, $, %, &, ', (, ), +, -, ., =, @, [, ], ^, _, {, }, or ~.
Property setting for linking to Host Data Collector
When you install Command View Advanced Edition Suite on a computer containing only Host Data
Collector, the properties must be set for the connection between Device Manager and Host Data
Collector.
For details about setting the properties, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced
Edition Suite Software Configuration Reference Guide.
Host Data Collector service
If the Bourne shell is used to install Host Data Collector or to start the service, logging out of the
management server causes the Host Data Collector service to stop. Therefore, use a shell other than
the Bourne shell to install Host Data Collector or start the service.
When the KAIC05607-E or KAIC06400-E error occurs during an operation to change
a storage system configuration
If the KAIC05607-E or KAIC06400-E error occurs when changing a storage system configuration in
the Device Manager GUI or CLI, some of the configuration changes might have been applied to the
storage system. Refresh the storage system information and check the current storage system
configuration. After that, continue the configuration change operation by using the Device Manager
GUI, CLI, or Element Manager.
Installing the Device Manager agent in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6(x64)
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6(x64), an installation of Device Manager agent is not successful if
glibc-<RPM-package-version>.i686.rpm is not installed in the target machine (when a silent
installation of Device Manager agent is performed, the output return code will be 144).
If this occurs, reinstall the Device Manager agent after the package is installed.
When the port necessary for the HCS Device Manager Web Service is used, HCS
Device Manager Web Service cannot be started and Internal Server Error is displayed
on the GUI Login screen
Port number 23025, necessary for HCS Device Manager Web Service, may be used by another
process. This depends on the system where Device Manager installed, because port number 23025
is within the range of ports that the operating system dynamically allocates.
If this occurs, add the port number 23025 to the services file managed by the operating system.
For Windows:
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\services
For Linux:
/etc/services
Using the Device Manager CLI with the French version of Windows
When using the Device Manager CLI, the comma used in a numerical value (such as 123,456,789)
of the output is not allowed in the French version of Windows.
Change the setting of the command prompt as follows.
