HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software Update 7.1.0-01 Release Notes (TB581-96073, June 2011)

Managing copy pairs on Windows hosts with multiple NICs
When all of the following conditions are met on hosts that manage copy pairs and are connected to
XP Replication Manager, use the Advanced Settings option in Windows Network Connections to adjust
the order in which NICs or IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are accessed.
One Windows host manages copy pair P-VOL, and another Windows host manages copy pair
S-VOL.
The host that manages P-VOL has multiple NICs.
The host that manages S-VOL has multiple NICs.
The name of the host that manages S-VOL described in the configuration definition file in the host
that manages P-VOL.
The name of the host that manages P-VOL described in the configuration definition file in the host
that manages S-VOL.
The IP addresses in 1 and 2 below are not the same, or the IP addresses in 3 and 4 are not the
same:
1. The P-VOL has its own IP address.
2. The configuration definition file of the S-VOL host contains the host name of the P-VOL. The
S-VOL uses a DNS server to lookup the P-VOL IP address.
3. The S-VOL has its own IP address.
4. The configuration definition file of the P-VOL host contains the host name of the S-VOL. The
P-VOL uses a DNS server to lookup the S-VOL IP address.
Virtual WWN set to virtual machine
If a virtual machine that has multiple virtual WWNs (multipath configuration) is managed by Device
Manager, allocate all virtual WWNs of the virtual machine to the same Host Storage Domain. If some
of the virtual WWNs are not allocated to the Host Storage Domain, volume information for the virtual
machine from Device Manager agent (such as filesystem) might not be displayed.
Performance trend graph function
Command View Advanced Edition products do not support the performance trend graph function even
though the User Guide and online help of Device Manager include the following description:
"If an HP StorageWorks P9000 Tiered Storage Manager software license is registered
and HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor software is available, you can
display a performance trend graph by clicking Analyze Performance on the THP Vols
tab or Parity Groups tab."
SSL communication between Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 and the Device
Manager server
When HiKeytool creates a key pair, SHA256withRSA is adopted as a default signature algorithm.
When the certificate signed by SHA256withRSA is used for SSL communication between the Device
Manager server and client (GUI), a client browser must support SHA256withRSA.
A client browser on Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 cannot support SHA256withRSA;
therefore, upgrade Windows XP SP2 to SP3 or later, or apply a Windows Server 2003 update.
To avoid this problem, consider adopting SHA1withRSA or MD5withRSA for a signature algorithm
when HiKeytool creates a key pair.
