HP StoreEver Command View for Tape Libraries (CVTL) v. 3.7 and Interface Manager Firmware v I274 Release Notes

LTO4 drive firmware download fails with "doesn't match expected revision"
Symptom: Performing a firmware download to an LTO4 drive fails with "New device firmware revision
(Hxyy) doesn't match expected revision (Hxyz)".
Workaround: The firmware may have been correctly updated. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and verify the
firmware version is what you expect it to be.
Found in version: 2.3.02 - 2.70
Considerations on upgrading the Interface Manager from versions I2XX-I232 to a later
version
Symptom: If you are upgrading your Interface Manager from an I2XX release, you must ensure that
the FTP server on the Interface Manager is clear of all extra files. This will ensure a clean and successful
upgrade.
Workaround: You can view the extra files by disabling your firewall and running the 'ls', 'dir', or 'nlist'
commands from the Interface Manager FTP prompt. Delete the extra files by running the 'del <filename>'
command. You will not need to perform this extra step once you are at I232 (or greater).
Found in version: I2XX-I232 of the Interface Manager
Extra devices disappear from hosts after removing a device from Secure Manager
Symptom: After removing a robotics or drive device(s) from a host in the edit host/HBA access screen
within Command View for Tape Libraries, LUN numbering is not reset and may leave a LUN gap
within that host map(s). If the first device (LUN 0) in the map is removed, the host may loose access
to all devices in that map. Some Operating Systems may not scan for additional LUNs if there is not
a LUN 0 or if there is a gap in the LUNs list. LUNs after the gap may not be detected.
Workaround: Removing the host completely from Secure Manager and the re-adding the host with the
proper devices will avoid creating LUN gaps.
NOTE: If the host in question resides in multiple partitions, the above workaround will have to be
done on all partitions.
Found in version: All 2.x versions
Cannot modify or view contact information on the Interface Manager
Symptom: Attempting to view contact information in the Interface Manager command line interface
returns an error message indicating "Contact information not available". Attempting to modify contact
information through the command line interface returns an error message indicating "Unable to update
contact information".
Workaround: This problem is very common after migrating from a 1.x version to a 2.x version. The
problem occurs because at least one of the contact information fields is uninitialized. Use Command
View for Tape Libraries to modify every contact information field so that it contains a value. You should
then be able to view and modify contact information through the command line interface.
Found in version: 2.0 (and above)
Unable to modify Secure Manager settings with a "down" (offline or temporarily removed)
drive
Symptom: Secure Manager has to be in a good or green state to add/remove host(s) and save or
restore configurations.
Workaround: None required. Drive issue must be resolved before performing these functions.
Found in version: 2.0 (and above)
